Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian, who's been performing for quite a while. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on the 16th of March 1984. Bea was on QI along with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea is an Irish comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea first began her career in stand-up comedy in 2011 after playing small roles she appeared on Irish and British television dramas starting in 2009. After 2012 she had been appearing in sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms and similar shows. After she received an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2011 and then began appearing on numerous panel show where she is currently a regular. She's been part of 8 Out of 10 Cats since 2016 and she is an extremely popular contestant on the sister show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Parents are Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. She has an older sister named Sinead. She became only the second female to win So You Think You're Funny in the year 2012. Bea was awarded the award in memory of her father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born the 16th of March, 1984 in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian passed away at the age of three. He was a horse veterinary. Bea wasn't told the details of how he passed away until she turned 13. The stage name Bea was in tribute to her father. Bea published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience with suicide. Bea and her younger sister Sinead were taken care of by their maternal grandmother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher, jockey trainer, and former professional jockey. The family was in love with racing meetings and horses. Bea was a child a Tour Guide in the Irish National Stud. From the age of a child, Bea knew that she did not want to pursue the racing industry. Instead, she was drawn to the performing arts.
